Idealista: Spain’s 5 Hottest Markets for €3M+ Homes

According to Q1 2026 data from Spain’s largest property portal Idealista, five destinations dominate the luxury real estate market for homes priced over €3 million in Spain, and three of them are on the Costa del Sol. The coastal properties consistently outpace Madrid, with the Golden Triangle of the Costa del Sol – comprising Marbella, Benahavis, and Estepona – holding over 5,000 listings priced over €3 million, while Madrid and Calvià (Mallorca) each contain between 500 and 1,000 homes in this price bracket.

It is essential to note that this analysis is based exclusively on property listings and inquiries recorded on the Idealista portal. These figures do not necessarily reflect official housing market statistics and should be understood as indicators of international buyer interest within this platform.

International interest in these markets for properties over €3 million varies significantly by location:

  • Calvià: 49% foreign buyer demand for properties over €3 million
  • Estepona: 43% foreign buyer demand for properties over €3 million
  • Benahavis: 43% foreign buyer demand for properties over €3 million
  • Marbella: 42% foreign buyer demand for properties over €3 million
  • Madrid: 11% foreign buyer demand for properties over €3 million

The coastal markets are clearly more attractive to international purchasers, with foreign interest nearly four times higher than in Madrid.
