Poland & Sweden Super-rich, Ones to Watch?
The Polish and Swedish markets on the Costa del Sol are significant, and in the next five years, they could become even more so, especially in the prime segment.
This is highlighted in Knight Frank´s The Wealth Report 2026, which is out now. This annual report is considered the bible on where global wealth is growing the fastest.
My favourite part is on on page 77 of the report, the forecast growth rates for HNWIs, Ultra-High-Net-Worth Individuals (UHNWIs) and billionaires.
The 2026 report highlights that the global UHNWI population reached 713,626, with 89 people crossing the US$30 million threshold daily over the last five years.
Poland and Sweden are projected to be standout performers over the next five years, with predicted UHNWI growth of +62.6% and +65.3% respectively, and even stronger billionaire growth of +123% and +81%. Both countries are expected to significantly outpace traditional European wealth hubs like the UK, France, and Germany, although in actual numbers there are many more UHNWIs in these three countries.
The table below shows how two significant buyer groups on the Costa del Sol real estate market, Poland and Sweden, are expected to perform against other major European markets between 2026 and 2031:
UHNWI & Billionaire Growth Forecasts (2026–2031)

Key European Comparisons
Leading the Continent: Poland and Sweden are highlighted as “emerging markets” and “rapidly maturing economies” that are leading global UHNWI and billionaire growth, significantly outperforming traditional European powerhouses like the UK, France, and Germany.
Billionaire Hotspots: In terms of billionaire population growth, Poland (123%) and Sweden (81%) rank 2nd and 3rd globally, respectively, trailing only Saudi Arabia.
Broader European Trend: While wealth is broadening geographically across Europe with robust gains in Romania and Greece, Sweden and Poland stand out for their specific concentration of extreme wealth.
Regional Dominance: Despite the rapid growth in these individual markets, Europe as a region holds just over a quarter of the global UHNWI total (183,953 individuals in 2026), trailing both North America and Asia-Pacific.
