Spanish property sales to foreign buyers in the second half of 2021 were 42% higher than the same period the previous year. This was revealed by data presented yesterday (Tuesday) by the Consejo General del Notariado which also shows that 18.6% of total sales nationwide were made by foreigners, in line with the average recorded between 2012 and 2019 (18.7%).
The top 5 regions by y-o-y increases were:
1. Balearic Islands +81.5%
2. Canary Islands +57.1%
3. Andalucía +55%
4. Cantabria +50.5%
5. Valencian Community +44.9%
Of these, 55% were residents in Spain and 45% were non-residents.
How much did they pay?

😎 Resident foreigners 1,567 euros/m2
😎 Spanish buyers 1,503 euros/m2
Brits were in the top spot with 12% of total sales to foreign buyers, followed by Germans (10.4%) and the French (8.3&)
👉 In Andalucia specifically, the top 2 foreign non-resident nationalities were Brits (20%) and Swedish (14%)
